ATTENTION ALL NURSING APPLICANTS
(PN, ADN, RIBN, LPN TO ADN Transition)
Only VGCC students pursuing a nursing program are eligible to take the TEAS at Vance-Granville Community College! Completion of the ATI TEAS assessment with a minimum score of 58% (Adjusted Individual Total Score) is required for all nursing program applicants, however there is a 3-year expiration date (dated within the application cycle). Unlimited attempts are permitted.
The New ATI TEAS
ATI launched the NEW ATI TEAS-TEAS 7 June 3, 2022. Although ATI has now retired the TEAS V and VI and it will no longer be administered, VGCC will continue to accept TEAS V and TEAS VI scores. ATI TEAS 4 will not be accepted. All TEAS tests must contain a composite score not individual scores.
ATI TEAS Test Fee:
Online Testing: $87.00
In- Person Testing: $87.00
Remote (Online Testing) – On the day of your appointment, you will have a grace period of 30 minutes to log in to online testing, after the grace period you will not be permitted to test. No exceptions!
Note: The ATI TEAS assessment may be taken at VGCC, however we will accept TEAS scores from another institution. TEAS results must be within three (3) years.

If you have had a name change since creating your ATI account, please contact ATI to ensure that your name matches exactly what is on your ID used for testing.

Required For Testing:
1. You must create an account with ATI prior to your test date in order to register and pay for the test.
You must have your Admissions Ticket with your ATI account log-in and password information verified and ready when you arrive for the TEAS test! YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TEST IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO LOG IN TO ATI AT THE START OF THE TEST, and the TEST FEE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

2. Official photo ID.
ATI has very strict guidelines which must be enforced regarding examinee identification. You will not be allowed to test if your name on the VGCC test roster is different from what is on your ID. To request your name be changed, please send an email to [email protected]. In this email, please include your ATI Username, the current name on your ATI Account, and documentation of the name change. Documentation can be a photo of your government issued ID or a copy of your official name change document. Once documentation is received, ATI will change your name and then delete your documentation.
Note: If your ID does not meet the following requirements you will not be allowed to test:

Frequently Asked Questions
ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is the entrance test given to prospective nursing and radiography students. It was developed in order to measure basic essential skills in Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage.
Students may take the TEAS test once they have applied and met the necessary requirements as described in their program brochure.

- Create an ATI account if you have not done so.
You must bring with you an official picture ID and your Admissions Ticket.
Students will need to bring their admissions ticket that will be included in the email sent to them from the testing center staff and it will need to be filled out prior to being seated for testing. There will be no time to retrieve this information once you are in the Testing Center.
Paper and pencil will be provided.
Calculators are NOT allowed.
No food, drinks, tobacco products, cell phones, smart watches, beepers, pagers, or children are allowed in the Testing Center.
Test results are available immediately upon completion of the test. A Test Administrator will provide you with a copy of your test results.
