FAFSA Night Coming to All Four VGCC Campuses This Month

A new Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is here—and so is help to complete it.

Vance-Granville’s Financial Aid Office invites high school students, current college students, families, and adult learners to attend its upcoming FAFSA Night series, taking place at each of the College’s campuses later this month. If you plan to use financial aid for Fall 2024–Summer 2025, you will need to complete the 2024–2025 FAFSA application to determine your eligibility for Title IV Aid. VGCC’s Financial Aid team will be available to provide assistance with the FAFSA application on the dates and times below:

Before attending FAFSA Night, you must create your student aid account or retrieve a forgotten username or password by visiting https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/sign-in/landing. All individuals (including parent/parents of dependent students) are required to have a verified student aid account. This step must be complete this before filling out your FAFSA®.

Gather the following information to bring with you on FAFSA Night:

  • Student and parent (dependent students only) 2022 Federal Income Tax Forms and all schedules, and W-2’s
  • Savings and checking account balance, Investments: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, CD’s, trust funds, money market funds, UGMA, UTMA, value of 529 account for student completing the FAFSA, rental property, real estate other than your home Exclude: primary home and retirement plans.
  • Current net worth of all businesses (value of business minus debt), include land, buildings, equipment, and inventory.
  • Current net worth of all farms (value of farm minus debt), include land, buildings, equipment, livestock, and grains not harvested and in storage Exclude: primary home
  • Child support received during the last completed calendar year
