Continuing Education, News

Did you know North Carolina is home to over 700 biotechnology companies, most of which are right here in the central part of the state? Vance-Granville Community College can help you connect to a biotech career without having to move away from your hometown!

Join our upcoming BioWork Process Technician course to prepare for your new career in North Carolina’s thriving biotechnology industry. In about two months, you’ll have the foundational skills you need to begin a career as a process technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. Vance-Granville is one of just 13 North Carolina community colleges to offer this program.

While the short-term BioWork program provides a fast track to the life sciences field, Vance-Granville students may also dig deeper. BioWork graduates may transition to the College’s Biotechnology associate degree program and receive credit for work they already completed in the shorter program.

Vance-Granville Community College offers BioWork as a hybrid course, combining online learning with a weekly in-person lab. The lab takes place at the College’s Franklin Campus in Louisburg.

The next BioWork course begins soon! Learn more and register on our Occupational Extension page.

The BioWork certificate program is offered through the NC Community Colleges BioNetwork. For additional questions, please contact OEX Director Elisa Rodwell at (252) 738-3276 or [email protected].
