Main Campus Child Care Center
The College operates a full-time Child Care Center as a training laboratory for the Early Childhood Education program. Children of students, staff and others are eligible for admittance to the center. Full-time students at Vance-Granville Community College are encouraged to use this resource for placement of their children. The center opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. each Monday through Friday. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served. VGCC’s Child Care Center is a “Five Star” licensed child care facility. The facility earned the rating for having a knowledgeable and dedicated staff, a safe and attractive environment, and opportunities for children to develop mentally, physically and socially.
The center, located in Building 6, consists of 6,000 square feet. It contains four individual classrooms, a multi-purpose room, a kitchen for the preparation of meals for the children, a staff workroom/lounge and a manager’s office.
The center is open to enrollment from the general public, but space is limited and a waiting list for most classes exists.
