VGCC seeks Nominees for Distinguished Alumni Award

|
News

For over 50 years, Vance-Granville Community College has served the citizens of Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren counties, producing thousands of graduates along the way. Now, VGCC is planning a new way to recognize some of those outstanding graduates who have gone on to make a significant impact in their communities and chosen career fields.

The Vance-Granville Community College Foundation will begin honoring one VGCC alumnus each year with the “Distinguished Alumni Award.” This will be the most prestigious award presented to an alumnus by The VGCC Foundation.

Alumni who have completed a diploma or degree program at VGCC are eligible for the award. Current VGCC Foundation Board members are not eligible. Selection will be made based on the following criteria:

  • Exhibiting outstanding leadership and character
  • Achieving significant accomplishments in one’s career field
  • Exhibiting outstanding service to the community
  • Supporting VGCC in some capacity

Anyone may nominate a VGCC alumnus by completing the nomination form. Nominees not selected at first will remain nominated and eligible for subsequent awards for three (3) years after the receipt of their nomination.

To complete the form, visit www.vgcc.edu/foundation or request a form via email from VGCCF Executive Director Tanya Weary at [email protected].

Nominations are due September 1, 2022. The first award is scheduled to be presented during the annual VGCC Scholarship Awards luncheon on September 22.
